my thoughts...
It's an excellent but very violent depiction of a risky rescue.

GREAT MOVIE
I watched this movie with my dad when I was 9 ( note I am pretty mature for my age) and is still one of my favorite movies of all time . It is a story about brave Americans sacrificing their lives to save people from Somalian terrorists. Pretty violent movie I recommend watching saving Private Ryan before watching this

Incredibly Intense but Wonderfully Done
As an 18 year old, this was one of the most intense war movies I’ve seen. It is excellently done, it depicts the chaos in this conflict perfectly. But it also is extremely violent. I’m a huge fan of movies like Saving Private Ryan, Hacksaw Ridge, We We’re Soldiers, Braveheart, but this movie turned my stomach more and caused me to look away more than any of those. It is anxiety, language, gore, and ordinary courage. Think Omaha beach from Saving Private Ryan but the entire movie. I would recommend waiting until 18 or strong stomach and mature 17 year old.

Excellent movie very violent
Generally I don’t care about violence, for example in saving private Ryan, it wasn’t bothering me. Although this movie was a bit too violent for me, especially very bloody scenes with injured soldiers. I know It can sound like it was so horrible but it was necessary, so it shouldn’t be problem for anyone 14+ Overall it is Great War movie and everyone should watch it!

Any of those little kids who play COD ought to watch this (spoilers)
So, from reading the other reviews in this and the “expert” review. It seems to me that not many people really seem to grasp the whole message of the movie. The violence is by no means the worst I’ve seen in movies and is nothing compared to some video games, if your gonna let your kid play something like RDR2 you might as well let them watch this. The language is more wholesome then stuff that I hear at school. Anyone who goes to public school knows this. The real part of this movie is about self sacrifice, never leaving anyone behind, and the horrors of war. Anyone who plays COD and thinks that this looks “cool” a obviously has no idea of what there talking about. This movie shows it all, from soldiers watching there friend and comrade bleed out as they’re helpless to stop it, two Delta Operators going in on a suicide mission to try to defend wounded men in a helicopter from a near endless wave of Somalians. The movie really gives a good go at telling people that war is no joke and not something to think is “cool”. If your more of a gamer, go play SPEC OPS:THE LINE. Great game, carries the same message. The movie mostly sticks to the Americans but tells about both sides and shows why the Americans are there. It briefly allows a part where the Somalians share there beliefs. It’s really a must watch for anyone who thinks they know something about war. Also, maybe give lone survivor a try.

Top-notch entertainment
Black Hawk Down is a FREAKIN’ AWESOME war movie. After 25 minutes or so, this film is literally a non stop, action packed battle scene, and it is AWESOME! WOW! There is some bloody war violence and some swearing, so I recommend it for ages 14 and up. A surprising fast pace for a war film, where as most war movies are quite obsessed with suspense and drama rather than constant gunfire. Not quite as realistic as Saving Private Ryan, but still an awesome true-story based movie with lots of action.
